Bulletwood
« on: October 24, 2014, 04:26:27 pm »
I happened on a closing lumber yard today. In the back racks I found a bunch of what I thought at first was mahogany. It turned out to be Bulletwood, an exotic wood that is hard as heck and weights more than water (it sinks). The lumber guy told me he had used some to trim his doorway and had to drill holes bigger than the nails to get through it.

Has anyone used this stuff for scrolling? It is dark red, like dried blood, and is supposed to take a terrific polish. I'd be happy to cut some and ship to you if it's in small enough sections for USPS (for a fair price that is). Like I said, it's heavy.
